A Four-Part Workshop Series
Racial Identity Work In Parallel with Examining Anti-Black Racism
For Asians and Asian Americans led by an Asian American
Are you looking for a workshop series dedicated specifically to Asians and Asian Americans?
Do you often find yourself being the only one in your friend group wanting to talk about BLM on a deeper level but don’t know where to start or you’re scared that it may change your friendship?
This workshop series is for those who identify as Asians or Asian Americans looking for community and group support to have deeper conversations around social justice. We’ll examine why the Asian & Asian American community has been quiet around social justice issues, learn, and reflect on how our Asian privilege has been contributing to systemic racism, especially towards the Black community.
This space is intended for those who are newer to the social justice world and for folks who’d like to continue their learning in a safe and collaborative manner.
In order to be better allies to Black people, we must first acknowledge the places where we hold power and begin the process of reflecting and learning, as this is one of the first steps that we all have to do. If you’re still unclear about Asian and Black solidarity, please watch this short clip from the Patriot Act.
